While every care is taken to ensure that all specification requirements are met we ask our customers to undertake third party inspection of all goods purchased. In case of supply ex-mill this usually means mill surveillance by a third party inspection company whose responsibility is to issue a final inspection release note.

For supply ex-stock the inspector normally carries out a scope of inspection, determined by the buyer to meet their requirement, usually VTI (visual thread inspection), FLD (full-length drift), stencilling of shipping mark and length tally. The inspector is required to issue a final inspection release note prior to shipment.

This process ensures the buyer may be confident in the knowledge that the goods fully meet his requirements. In the event that any rejects are found, suitable repairs can be organised, or the material replaced.

Individual customer requirements vary widely. Over many years experience we have found that only through this process of acceptance of the goods prior to shipment can both parties be sure that their requirement be met in full. It also has the advantage that both parties have independent documented assurance that the goods are in serviceable condition prior to despatch. This is invaluable in cases where damage or loss later occurs during handling or shipment.

Normally VTI/FLD inspection is carried out at our stock location. In the case where Electro Magnetic Inspection (EMI) of pipe is required it may be necessary to transport pipe to a specialised inspection yard.

Our objective is to supply pipe, which meets the specification requirements in full, and the above inspection procedures are designed to achieve this aim.
