For supply ex-stock the inspector normally carries out a scope
of inspection, determined by the buyer to meet their requirement,
usually VTI (visual thread inspection), FLD (full-length drift),
stencilling of shipping mark and length tally. The inspector is
required to issue a final inspection release note prior to shipment.
This process ensures the buyer may be confident in the knowledge that the goods fully meet his requirements. In the event that any rejects are found, suitable repairs can be organised, or the material replaced.
